Roberta “Miss Bobbi” Anderson

Miss Bobbi’s Place was created to provide an opportunity for families that are going through their toughest times to remain together as a family unit. The namesake of this is Miss Bobbi. When asked to describe the late Miss Bobbi, her daughter used the words of Theodore Roosevelt: “It is not the critic who counts; not the man who points out how the strong man stumbles, or where the doer of deeds could have done them better. The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena, whose face is marred by dust and sweat and blood, who strives valiantly;..... Who at best knows in the end the triumph of high achievement, and who at the worst, if he fails, at least fails while daring greatly.

Miss Bobbi lived her life helping others in Lancaster City. She was willing to take a leap of faith and not let her fears of failure get in the way of helping others. We have been inspired by Miss Bobbi to put ourselves out there and do whatever that we can to help others. Miss Bobbi’s place started because we were changed by the impact that homelessness has on children, and want to help make a difference in the lives of these families.
